Pamela Golchet, MD, is a Board-Certified Ophthalmologist and Fellowship-trained Retina Specialist with training and experience at nationally renowned medical institutions.

Dr. Golchet received her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with notable distinctions and was awarded the prestigious UCLA Regents Scholarship for Outstanding Scholastic Performance and Achievement.

Dr. Golchet went on to receive her medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco, School of Medicine, which is consistently ranked as one of the nation’s top medical schools. She was among a select few to be awarded the UCSF School of Medicine Regents Scholarship, the highest academic honor bestowed for Outstanding Scholastic Performance, Achievement, and Promise as a Leader. During medical school, she was the recipient of the UCSF Dean’s Summer Research Fellowship to support her research at the UCLA Jules Stein Eye Institute with the esteemed Stein Eye faculty.

She completed Residency in Ophthalmology and Fellowship in Vitreo-Retinal Diseases at the prestigious Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, IL. There, she had the privilege of being mentored by the world-renowned Lee Jampol, MD, a distinguished leader and pioneer in Vitreo-Retinal Diseases. She is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

Her research has led to valuable contributions to the field of retina and multiple publications in top peer-reviewed journals, including Ophthalmology, Archives of Ophthalmology, British Journal of Ophthalmology, Retina, and Survey of Ophthalmology. She has been the recipient of multiple awards and grants to present her work at national medical conferences, including at the American Ophthalmological Society and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology.

Dr. Golchet practices evidence-based medicine, takes time to discuss patients’ findings with thoughtfulness and compassion, and provides the best options for treatment tailored to each patient’s particular needs. With well over a decade of treating patients with vision-threatening conditions, she is an expert in the diagnosis and treatment of vitreo-retinal diseases, with a particular interest in age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and retinal vascular occlusions.

In the spirit of giving back to the community, Dr. Golchet serves as a mentor to UCLA Ophthalmology residents, teaching the next generation of eye physicians and surgeons while serving our veteran population at the Greater Los Angeles Sepulveda VA Medical Center.

Dr. Golchet’s reputation for excellence and patient-centered approach to practicing medicine has resonated with both patients and referring physicians. She now brings her expertise, experience, and state-of-the-art retina care to serving the greater Calabasas community at the Visionary Retina Center.
